How do you define what is important in your Brand ?

Finding our purpose or the meaning behind our business is not always an easy task. We can find ourselves excited and motivated to start a business, but really struggle to focus on the steps to brand it. However, having a clear purpose is critical to building your brand and your business. Your company image relies on consistency, whether visually or through brand messaging and it all starts with your purpose. 

There are some simple questions you can begin asking yourself to help streamline the process of finding your brand purpose or the reason you created your company. 


Why does your company exist? Your brand purpose is why you exist. Undoubtedly, you began your business out of desire to provide services to others, sell great products, or even for charity work to help your community. Whatever your reason for starting, isn't always apparent until your branding is clear and can communicate a clear message to your customer. To help you find your purpose, list out five different reasons "why" your company exist..... really niche down and focus on your passion and who are you targeting to help? Find focus and repurpose your view, if needed, and become super clear on your "why."



In this process, don't forget to Identify your core values ! Communicate clear values in your Brand purpose. Are your values heartfelt, curiosity, or possibly mission based. Finding our brand purpose helps you differentiate your company from competitors, it's your why! What are your greatest strength's ? What values do you bring to your work consistently and without fail? When finding our brand purpose, we need to get honest with ourselves and our reason or purpose for our company. For example, maybe your company's values are integrity, honesty, or exceptional customer service to your clients and these are the values of your brand purpose. Don't be generic, now is the time to shine and not be shy about your purpose and brand messaging.  



Whatever your reason or purpose is for creating your company, make sure you are clear and have a precise understanding to "Why" you started your company. Your brand strategy and the look and visual feel of your company depends on this clarity. In the end, this will help you attract the customer you want, help create a brand personality and a visual story of your company.
